Updates Blog

Now Supporting Post Teasers

profile toggleThat’s right… the number one feature request has been granted. As of today your blog applications will show post descriptions underneath their titles.

On the canvas pages of your applications (http://apps.facebook.com/canvasurl/), you’ll see a quick description. On the profile pages, you’ll see a little toggle button next to each post title, where the user can toggle the post description, if so inclined. That way your app won’t take up too much screen real estate for your users, but you can also show descriptions.

As always, keep the great feedback coming. It’s helping to build a better Blogfuse!

Note: Watch this space for some big announcements very soon!

Public App Pages On Facebook- Blogfuse Users Rejoice!

Facebook has just announced that they are making their application’s canvas pages (ie. the main page of an application) open to the public. You no longer have to login or even have an account to see the main part of each app. This is a great big “SWEET!” for anyone with a Facebook application. Here are a couple reasons why:

  •  Now searches can find your blog’s application in search results with Google, AOL, making the distribution even wider.
  • If people aren’t installing your app because they don’t know what it looks like, now they can get a much better idea. Plus, your canvas page is riddled with links to your site, so you’ll have more visitors referred from Facebook.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m as happy as a clam. Thanks Facebook!
